Delivery and packaging

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

Due to the current COVID-19 outbreak, we will only be supplying Local Delivery, and collection in our Blantyre store. We will update you as soon as this situation changes. All of us at Team Strachan thank you for your support and understanding during this unprecendented situation.

We will open Nationwide orders and collection from our Rosebank store when normality restores.

1. Delivery charges

Our standard delivery charges are as follows:

UK Mainland  – £4.99

Orders over £70 are free.

Otherwise, delivery charges are based on product weight. 

Simply add your products to your basket and enter your delivery address for accurate delivery cost to be calculated.

We currently deliver to the following postcodes:

2. Delivery Days

Orders placed for UK mainland (excluding Scottish Highlands) before noon will normally be delivered within 2 working days.

The earliest delivery day after a bank holiday is Wednesday.

 

3. Delivery Exceptions  

 

We are unable to deliver to the following postcodes due to their remote location:

•Shetland: ZE1-3

•Orkney: KW11-17

•Western Isles: HS1-9

•Isle Of Arran: KA27 & Isle Of Cumbrae: KA28

•GY-ALL, HS-ALL, IM-ALL, JE-ALL

•PA62-80

•The Scottish Highlands & islands:

AB31-35, AB36-38, AB41-45, AB51-54, AB55-56, BT1-99, FK17-21, IV1-39, IV52-54, IV63, KW1-10, KW18-99, PA21-40, PH18-29, PH32-33, PH45-48.

 

 

4. Local Deliveries

Local deliveries are accepted up until noon each day (except Saturday & Sundays).

Local delivery postcodes include: 

G1, G11, G12, G2, G20, G21, G22, G23, G3, G31, G32, G33, G34, G4, G40, G41, G42, G43, G44, G45, G46, G5, G51, G52, G53, G58, G64, G66, G67, G68, G69, G71, G72, G73, G74, G75, G76, G77, G79, G80, G9, G90, ML1, ML10, ML2, ML3, ML4, ML5, ML6, ML7, ML8, ML9

 

For local same day delivery, orders must be processed before 12 noon.

5. Saturday Deliveries

Local deliveries on a Saturday will be accepted before 12 noon.

UK Mainland (excluding Scottish Highlands) orders placed before Noon on Thursday can be sent by special Saturday delivery at an additional cost of £8.00.

 

6. Packaging

Your meat order is kept cool in transit because we use a one-piece foil insulated cardboard box, and your meat is packed along with specially designed ice packs.

 

The insulated cardboard box is leak-proof and sturdy. It keeps the inside cool. Our ice packs are made with a water-based gel, which is frozen and packed with the meat. This will keep the meat at the correct temperature for up to 48 hours. When the ice does melt, it stays as a gel, which prevents the delivery becoming wet.

 

7. Delivery Method

 

Strachan deliveries are influenced by its courier partners (up to 2 working days).

 

We will deliver our products in specially designed cardboard boxes to anywhere in the mainland UK.

The selected courier collects the completed orders from Strachans and delivers them directly to your door. Customers can give additional delivery instructions for their order online at the time of purchase.

Deliveries are attempted at least once on the day of delivery. The selected courier may deliver the package to a neighbouring house either two doors up or down from the delivery address.

Full instructions for collection are posted on the instruction card at the delivery address. If it is not possible to deliver the package on the day of delivery the courier company will return the package to the local depot and attempt to deliver on the next working day. Thereafter parcels must be collected from the local delivery depot. If not collected parcels are returned to Strachans. In the case for DX the parcels are attemppted on day 1 and if delivery fails, delivery will be attempted the next day .  

Returns Policy

If your order is incorrect or damaged, please call or email us and we’ll do our best to rectify any problems as quickly as possible.

Wrongly Supplied Products

If you have received incorrect products in your order please inform us within 48 hours from the date of the goods received. We will then arrange collection and either provide a refund to the same payment card as used to place the order or send replacement correct items as soon as we receive the goods.

Defective or Damaged Products

If the products received are thought to be defective or damaged in some way, the products may have to be returned to Strachans. If this is the case, this must be before the “Use By” date of the products. If the goods are found to be faulty or defective, we will offer a replacement or a full refund and in either case we will refund your postage cost.

Right to Cancel

Your right to cancel starts at the time of placing the order, as all of our products are food and therefore perishable, your right to cancel ceases at the point of dispatch.

If you are not completely satisfied with any products you receive, please contact us via email or phone.
